This worldwide team of engineers, producers, influencers, voice artists and musicians helped us to refine the tonality of our capsule designs, through rigorous double-blind listening tests across a wide range of recorded material.

“I’ve had a few Aim Audio microphones for a while now during different stages of development and they are great mics. Lately I have been using a pair of INSPIRE a lot as drum overheads and as piano mics and I love them! I’m sure they’ll be on just about every session I do moving forward.”
With decades of experience in both studio and live settings at legendary facilities – including United Recording, East West Studios, Sunset Sound, Village Recorders, Abbey Road, Angel Studios, and La Fabrique – Steve spent 28 years as a staff engineer at Capitol Studios in Hollywood (1994–2022). His credits span icons like Elton John, Michael Bublé, Trisha Yearwood, Beck, Gregory Porter, Sam Smith and Niall Horan, plus extensive Dolby Atmos mixing work (including on games such as Apex Legends). For over 20 years, he collaborated closely with 23-time Grammy winner Al Schmitt on projects with Diana Krall, Paul McCartney, Neil Young, George Benson, Quincy Jones and Burt Bacharach, to name but a few.
Steve received the 2017 Pensado Award for Best Recording Engineer and contributed to the Universal Audio and Capitol Studios team that won the 2020 TEC Award for their Capitol Chambers plugin. He won a Grammy for the Count Basie Orchestra’s “Basie Swings The Blues” and earned two 2025 Grammy nominations for his work on The Beatles’ “Now and Then” (Record of the Year) and “The Sound of Music” (Best Historical Album).
